Fantastic Funding from Heritage Lottery Fund and Beyond

Black Bull Close Clearance and Community Archaeology Project We’re so excited to announce that the Heritage Lottery Fund has granted us £55,000 to support the next phase in clearing the Black Bull Close buildings and making them safe. This will allow us to give access to small supervised groups, in particular as part of a parallel programme of community archaeology over this Spring/Summer. Certificate of Work Readiness 2018

February sees The Ridge delivering our Employability Fund Certificate of Work Readiness courses. These programmes are non-sector specific, instead, we focus on really getting to know our clients allowing us to do what we know works best and that is finding places that REALLY suit an individual’s interests and aptitudes. 78% of those attending our courses go on to education, employment or training. Foundations Work

The Ridge Foundations CIC started work in earnest on 16 October, with 4 new employees, training in masonry skills under Stockdale and Lyall, our ongoing partners. The team is supervised by Pete Smith, the team is tackling a number of jobs on site in the Backlands, including: completion of hot-lime pointing of repaired boundary wall sections digging out an access trench for work on Mason’s Close boundary wall dismantling Mason’s Close wall, prior to rebuild in December.
