Paul Budis

Paul was born in Dumfries but his formative years were spent in the new town of Cumbernauld. Paul has lived and worked in both Scotland and England and spent 6 years in Spain while undertaking studies for the priesthood.

Paul served as a priest in Glasgow for 5 years before taking the decision to move in a different direction. He is a qualified HR professional and has experience working in both central and local government as well as the private sector. A former chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development he is a skilled consultant, trainer and facilitator with good knowledge of employment law and HR practices. He has specific interest in equality and diversity issues. Until recently he ran his own Civil Ceremonies company in the North West of England and has conducted many funerals and weddings.

Now retired and living in Dunbar he enjoys walking his dogs, a trip up Doon Hill with them happens most days, cooking, trying to keep fit with regular visits to the gym and watching football wishing he could still pull on his boots. He is a keen reader and keeps a close eye on politics and current affairs. He hopes his experience and knowledge will be of benefit to The Ridge as a Trustee.
