Certificate of Work Readiness 2018

February sees The Ridge delivering our Employability Fund Certificate of Work Readiness courses. These programmes are non-sector specific, instead, we focus on really getting to know our clients allowing us to do what we know works best and that is finding places that REALLY suit an individual’s interests and aptitudes.

78% of those attending our courses go on to education, employment or training.

We know that our approach works. Our project workers offer support from the first meeting, throughout the training and the work placement. We will encourage our clients to think about their future, helping them to understand how best to develop newly acquired skills. We will also help with job searching and CV writing as well as interview preparation.

What will they do on training days?

Develop their knowledge and understanding of a chosen profession both in theory and practice. Work to achieve an SQA Certificate of Work Readiness and we can help them access further training if required.

What will they do on placement days?

Lack of real work experience is a barrier to gaining employment, placement days provide this experience and allows the development of workplace skills. For many people, entering the workplace for the first time will be a new and somewhat daunting experience. When placed in the right environment our clients can learn about the responsibilities of employment and how to deal with work situations. We continually mentor our trainees throughout their placement, liaising with them and visiting them throughout.

We really are a chatty bunch and we LOVE to talk about us and all the great work we are doing so drop us a line anytime. You can email here. You can phone too, just pick up the blower and phone Gill Last (our Training Manager  she LOVES to chat), Tel: 07812 642447
