The Ridge Café at Bleachingfield provides a quality food service to centre users, as well as outside catering.

It also offers valued opportunities in training, volunteering and a wide variety of community events. Local produce is used whenever possible, to produce tasty and healthy dishes.

In September 2014, The Ridge took over the lease on the café at Bleachingfield Community Centre. This venue caters to all Centre users, providing healthy eating choices, and using high quality, locally-sourced produce wherever possible.

Tea Dance

We also run a tea dance on the first Wednesday of the month in The Masonic Hall at 2pm – 4pm, £5 includes sandwiches, tea/coffee, sweet treats, live music on the accordion – please bring a small raffle prize!

We also run kids clubs in the holidays, including baking, sewing, spanish & crafts. Please see our blog for current details!

The café offers some limited opportunities for members of the local community to get involved as volunteers. Involvement varies depending on the needs/interests/skills of the volunteer, as well as the needs of the café at the time.

Volunteers make amazing contributions to our success, including:

  • regular hours helping out in the kitchen
  • helping out with cooking for a dinner
  • assisting with children’s events.
