Rob Bisset

Rob has lived in Dunbar all his life, apart from while at University, where he gained a BSC(Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He spent all his working life at the local cement works carrying out various roles in the electrical and instrument departments, eventually reaching the post of Chief Electrical and Process Control Engineer from which he took early retirement in 2010. He has previously held director positions at Edinburgh and District Employers Training Association Ltd (EDETA) which runs apprenticeship development and health and safety training courses, Dunbar Community Development Company (DCDC) as a representative of the Dunbar Community Sports Clubs Association and at Hallhill Ltd helping to organise and run the fledgling business as chairman of the board. He has held various posts in Dunbar Rugby Club and was involved with the local Scout Group for many years as a leader. Some of his hobbies are campervanning, geocaching, birdwatching and gardening. He has a strong interest in the history and development of Dunbar, tracing some of his town ancestry back to the 17th Century. He is very keen to see the Black Bull Close buildings preserved and transformed into a vibrant community facility providing a focus for all members of the local community and further afield to progress their social needs
