Hungry Hatch

The Ridge Cafe at the Bleachingfields have recently started a new venture, Hungry Hatch Meals and we want to shout about it. Sue along with a fantastic crew of volunteers are working closely with local suppliers to stamp out food waste in Dunbar. Food that would normally go to waste for no good reason is supplied by Tescos Haddington, our local Dunbar Co-op as well as local independent businesses, Crunchy Carrot, Peter Whitecross Butcher and our community owned Bakery.

The Ridge Cafe team use this generous resource to cook great, nutritional food for the community. The Ridge Cafe team use this generous resource to cook great, nutritional food for the community: come along every second Monday to join us for a three course dinner! This is free, but spaces are limited so you must book. You can pop into the cafe to book or email thecaferidge@gmail.com. EVERYONE WELCOME!

This is an exciting and worthwhile venture, reducing food waste and bringing the community together and we couldn’t do it without our wonderful suppliers, volunteers, Sustaining Dunbar and Zero Waste Dunbar. If you want to get involved in a volunteer capacity just drop into the Cafe and speak to Sue.
